DALLAS
June 2023
Newsletter
UIU Dallas Family,
I cannot believe we are already half way through the year! I am so excited to kick off the summer months alongside you.
I know this is going to be a blast – the fun has just begun! As you can imagine we have a captivating line up of events that will infuse your summer with the 3 C’s (Culture, Connection & Charity) and unforgettable memories.
Our events are designed to bring us closer as a community and aid in creating lasting bonds with each other.
Throughout the month of June, you can look forward to a multitude of activities that cater to diverse interests and passions. Whether you are interested in professional development, in a relationship, looking to grow stronger in your Faith, someone who loves giving back, a passionate cook, or someone who is brand new to the Dallas Chapter, we have something special planned for you. From our 2nd annual Jollof Rumble and monthly bible study to our couples Nollywood movie night and monthly happy hour, the choices are abundant, and there is an event for everyone to enjoy.
In addition to the inclusion and excitement these events aim to cultivate, they also serve as a reminder of the importance of maintaining balance in your daily life. As we approach the end of quarter 2, I encourage you to remain focused and determined to finish this quarter strong. While you embrace the warmth of summer, don't forget the goals you set for yourself. I also encourage you to make the most of this summer when it comes to involvement in our chapter. Engage in meaningful conversations, forge new friendships, and challenge yourself to explore new territories. Embrace the diversity that surrounds you and celebrate the unique perspectives of other members.
Let's continue to support and uplift each other in the name of Igbo Excellence.
As a reminder, The UIU National Convention event is just around the corner (see the Convention flyer under the ‘Members Corner’ section of this newsletter for more information). This year, the convention will be held in the Bay Area, and it will be an unforgettable experience. The annual convention is always a great opportunity for all of us to connect with other members of UIU from across the nation, to learn, network, and have fun with like-minded individuals who share similar values and goals. Not to mention, UIU Dallas has a great shot at winning Chapter of the Year again, and we'd love for you to be there to celebrate such an achievement! Get your ticket for the convention as soon as possible, as they are steadily increasing in price. This is an event that you don't want to miss.
In the meantime, I look forward to having your presence and participation in our June events. Let’s finish this quarter strong and make this summer a remarkable chapter in our UIU Dallas story.
Take care of yourself! I pray this month will be filled with joy, inspiration, and success for us all.
All my best,
Yvonne Igodan
